Byeee NUS Opens 2010

So, the 11th NUS Lifesaving Invitational Championships is over! thank you NUS for the event :) weeeell..... Nationals 2010 awaits us.

all the effort put in was paid off with new PBs, and new achievement! :D Well done guys! i bet we'll see an even more amazing result if we train harder!

So, training tomorrow's only for BM and 123 and Basic class! BM & above holders, rest well and see yall on Wednesday! :D

Monday 21/06/2010: 12pm- 123; 5pm-BM

Wednesday 23/06/2010: 9am-11am training for ALL (basic, 123, BM, BM & Above)

Classes Conducted

Lifesaving 1, 2, 3 (LS123)
This class introduces the basic skills and knowledge of water safety and lifesaving and is the pre-requisite to taking the Bronze Medallion. Successful candidates will be awarded a certificate.

Bronze Medallion (BM)
This class trains you for the Bronze Medallion which is recognized as a flagship award for lifesaving. This class will develop a basic level of proficiency in knowledge, understanding and practical ability for aquatic rescue situations. Successful candidates will receive CPR and BM certification.

Award of Merit (AM)
This is a progression from the Bronze Medallion and develops a proficient level of knowledge, understanding and practical ability in aquatic rescue situations. The successful candidate will receive SNR and AM certification.

Distinction Award (DA)
This is a progression from Award of Merit and establish an advanced standard of all round knowledge, skills and ability in aquatic rescue situations. The successful candidate will receive the highest qualification that can be attained in our club.

Other lifesaving awards that are trained and assessed at an open water facility:

Bronze Cross (BM)
Designed to develop competent lifesaving and emergency care abilities for qualified lifesavers in open water conditions, this award requires a Bronze Medallion qualification.

Silver Cross (SC)
A step up from BC, SC is designed to develop advanced lifesaving and emergency care abilities for qualified lifesavers in open water rescues.
